‘Becoming Elizabeth’ on Starz: Everything We Know About the British Period Drama

If you're looking for a new period drama filled with epic costumes, forbidden love, and power struggles, then Starz has you covered with Becoming Elizabeth when it premieres June 12. While most of us are familiar with the story of Queen Elizabeth II thanks to society's obsession with all things royal—not to mention films and shows like The Queen and The Crown—the new Tudor drama will explore the less known early life of Princess Elizabeth I before she became queen. The series stars Alicia von Rittberg (Fury, Genius) as young Elizabeth Tudor. In the first episode, she shares quite a bit of screen time with her father's widow, Catherine Parr, played by Jessica Raine (The Informer, Patrick Melrose) and power-hungry playboy Thomas Seymour (Tom Cullen, who is absolutely magnetic in the role).
