Clive Parker-Sharp

Clive’s career began as a drummer in cult punk rock outfit Spizz Energi in 1979, recording two albums for A&M/Universal Records. He then joined EMI wannabees Scary Thieves and later, Mercury Records act Big Country.

Turning to writing, specialist imprint Strand published Clive’s first novel ‘The Box’, based on the life of Ghanian-born entrepreneur Philip Brem-Wilson and set mostly in 1960s south London. Clive set up a book launch in a local art gallery and instead of the usual readings he used live performance and dramatised scenes from ‘The Box’ in song and spoken word. Arts Council South East supported a number of shows, and from that, the script took form, originally as a feature film and now as a potential television series called ‘Mr Bingo’.

In addition, Clive has now completed an original and hard-hitting novel called ‘Cone Boy’ and well as scripts for a psychological, futuristic detective series entitled ‘Draig’.
