“I was 6 years old when I went to see Star Wars at the Empire in Leicester Square, and was immediately hooked on film”, says Brett. “I grew up mesmerized by black-and-white films on TV like White Heat, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, It’s a Wonderful Life. Later on, I discovered Scorsese. I figured ‘do what you most like doing’, so I studied film at university, and at film school I chose to get into an edit suite. I have never left.”

Early in his career, Brett helped establish some very successful formats, cutting the first series of ‘Faking it’, ‘Wide Swap’ and latterly the first episode of ‘Drive to Survive’. Working with directors like Steve McQueen and Asif Kapadia, he’s cut numerous award-winning stories, including ‘Stephen: The Murder That Changed a Nation’ and ‘Uprising’. Comfortable in any genre, Brett loves the power of storytelling.
