Sophie’s latest credit as assistant costume designer on the new Yorgos Lanthimos picture ‘Poor Things’, with its eleven Oscar nominations including one for costume designer Holly Waddington, has been the springboard into designing for her. Establishing her identity in opera, and with previous credits as assistant designer, Sophie’s strengths lie in period design (‘Phantom Thread’, ‘Mary & George’, ‘Downton Abbey’, ‘The Great’, ‘Summer of Rockets’ and Amazon Prime’s forthcoming ‘My Lady Jane’) - covering a lot more than ‘classic’ period, and whether it’s the 18th century or 1960s Britain, her diligence and attention to detail never falters.
